Certificate of Mediation

The Certificate of Mediation curriculum offers a non-degree program designed especially for mediators and other workers in the conflict resolution field.

This program consists of three courses of three semester hours each offered by the Department of Sociology: All three of these courses can be taken with limited time spent in regular on-campus activities.

Sociology 625 is normally offered in the spring semester, with internet participation available.

Sociology 626 is normally offered in summer, mostly through intensive mediation training workshops. Although these workshops require being in Terre Haute, they are mostly scheduled to be held on weekends.

Sociology 695 is available to students who have completed Sociology 625 and 626. Most students arrange for their practicum placements (which may be in various locations near or far from Terre Haute) during the last half of the calendar year. Any conferences held in Terre Haute would normally occur on weekends.
